The Financial Management Association International (FMA) was established in 1970 and has become the global leader in developing and disseminating knowledge about financial decision making. FMA's members include academicians and practitioners across the world. FMA:

  • Broadens the common interests between academics and practitioners
  • Provides opportunities for professional interaction between and among academics, practitioners and students
  • Promotes the development and understanding of basic and applied research and of sound financial practices
  • Enhances the quality of education in finance

Vision

The vision of the Financial Management Association International is to be the global leader in developing and disseminating knowledge about financial decision making.

Mission

The mission of FMA International is to serve the global finance community by:

  • broadening the common interests between academics and practitioners
  • providing opportunities for professional interaction between and among academics, practitioners and students
  • promoting the development and understanding of basic and applied research and of sound financial practices
  • enhancing the quality of education in finance.

About FMA at Shippensburg

The Shippensburg University FMA is newly a reorganized club within the John L. Grove College of Business specifically designed for Finance majors, but is also open to all College of Business students. The FMA meets bi-weekly during the Fall and Spring semester. The organization is dedicated to educating students on possible career opportunities in the finance industry by providing speakers from various types of financial institutions, attending career expos, providing internship information/networking opportunities, assisting in organization of the annual College of Business Etiquette Dinner and fundraising/planning of educational trips such as the National FMA Conference and NYSE/Wall Street tour in New York. Any student interested in becoming a member should contact one of the officers listed below. Member dues are $15 and will be collected after the first meeting of the semester.
