September SVA Events
2010 September 11th Memorial Event
Student Veterans of America (SVA) and Shippensburg University, will proudly present the 2010 September 11th Memorial Event.
The event will consist of approximately 6,500 American flags (one foot poles) that have been donated by the Shippensburg VFW. The event will take place at 9:11 a.m. in front of the Ezra Lehman Library in honor of our fallen heroes during the War on Terror and the men and women who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
For a donation of $1, anyone can sponsor a flag. We encourage all academic departments and Shippensburg students to participate. There will be tables setup across campus from September 6th until September 11th. Our organization offers academic departments the chance to earn the most amount of money by allowing SVA to place a donation container in the department's office for two weeks. The department that raises the most profit will be highly acknowledged at the event.
All proceeds will go to Wounded Warriors Project and Shippensburg's SVA to help facilitate troop services and on-campus needs for veterans. If you would like to sponsor a flag(s), or would like more information regarding the event, please contact Josh Lang at (717) 440-1057, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
