2015 Homecoming Queen: Jaelin Smith
My name is Jaelin Smith, I am a senior at Shippensburg University. My
major is Criminal Justice with minors in Psychology and Anthropology.
Currently, I work as an intern with New Visions, Inc., which is a
community-based mental health agency. I also work with the Learning Center as a
Criminal Justice tutor.
It has been my pleasure to serve as the Vice President of the African
American Organization (Afro-Am), while participating as an active member in
many peer leadership groups throughout the Multicultural Student Affairs. As a
recipient of multiple scholarships including the Board of Governors
Scholarship, I would like to express my gratitude as these honors assisted
tremendously in my academic endeavors thus far.
I am now recognized as an active member of the National Criminal
Justice Honors Society. In my free time I enjoy attending local church
services, hanging out with friends, traveling, and working with the youth of my
community. I would love to be Homecoming Queen because I feel it represents the
extended dedication and commitment of being more than just a part of the
student body. Being crowned queen provides the example of excelling in the
collegiate arena while being supported by my peers.
2015 Homecoming King: Jeremy Flick
My name is Jeremy Flick and I am in
the Class of 2016 here at Ship, hailing from the hometown of Hershey, PA. As a
Psychology major, I hold the position of President in both the Psychology club
and the honors society called Psi Chi. I also serve on the executive board of
Dance Troupe where I hold the position of Chairperson. In past years I have
been a member of Ship Mini-Thon, FUSE, DiscipleMakers, FCA, and have
participated in all four seasons of intramural sports. I’ve been a finalist in
campus competitions such as Mr. Shippensburg Pageant, Ship Idol, and Ship’s Got
Talent. Having had performing experience in instrumental, stage, and vocal
performance, I enjoy using my skills for music editing, songwriting, and
recording in the (minimal) spare time that I have. There have been many people
at Ship who have had such a positive impact on me, and being named Homecoming
King would allow me the honor of representing everyone who has helped make me
into the person I am today. My hope is that I may be a leader that provides a
positive influence for the student body of this campus.
